About Doppelgone
Doppelgone finds the duplicate and lookalike photos filling up your storage (exact copies, bursts, retakes, chat saves and re-uploads) and keeps the best shot of each. You approve every clean-up, and removed photos go to the library’s own trash, where they stay for 30 days. Photos are analysed on your device and never uploaded. Doppelgone works with Google Photos and iCloud Photos, and runs as a Chrome extension and on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android.
Key facts
Chrome extension: Google Photos and iCloud Photos (photos.google.com, icloud.com). Mac: Apple Photos library, folders and external drives. Windows: photo folders and drives (camera imports, old phone backups, Pictures). iPhone and Android: photos on the phone.
Nothing is deleted permanently. Removed photos go to Google Photos’ trash, iCloud’s Recently Deleted, the phone’s trash, or a Removed folder and then the Recycle Bin/Trash, for 30 days. Doppelgone never empties a trash.
Favourites, photos with descriptions or captions, Live and motion photos, videos, hidden photos, photos shared with you. Screenshots and edited photos are never suggested for removal.
Photos are analysed on the device. To pick the best shot, only anonymous quality notes about each set go to the server, never pictures, names, places or dates. The phone and desktop apps need no account.
Free to scan everything and clean up 200 photos. Pro is $9.99, paid once, with no subscription, for up to 3 libraries (accounts, computers, Android phones). On iPhone, Pro is a one-time in-app purchase for that iPhone. 14-day refunds.
